Genuine Values – the secret behind the manufacturing of Wellendorff jewellery
Wellendorff jewellery is all manufactured by hand. This is becoming a rare and precious skill which artisans, such as Wellendorff have managed to preserve.
The Wellendorff premium is placed on genuine quality and craftsmanship. Every goldsmith has to successfully complete an additional 2 years of intensive instruction before they are able to make this renowned jewellery.
We would like to invite you to cast your eye over one of Wellendorff`s master goldsmiths’ shoulder.
Watch and learn as he melts the gold, creates silky soft ropes from super fine gold wire and reveals the secrets
of the mysterious, enamel rotating rings.
We look forward to seeing you Wednesday & Thursday, September 7- 8th, 12 – 5 p.m. at 87 George Street, Edinburgh

Ready, Steady, JEWEL! Spotlighting some of Scotland’s finest home grown creative talent.
Following the success of last years’ event, Ready, Steady, Jewel is running for a second year. The concept is similar to the popular television programme ‘Ready, Steady, Cook’, However, instead of chefs, we have jewellers and rather than food, they are working with precious metals and gemstones. The majority of the jewellers involved have been selected on the strength of their university degree shows and in conjunction, some of Scotland’s most respected and established jewellers have kindly agreed to also enter a show piece.
Each jeweller has to submit an ‘ingredients’ list of which particular metal and gemstone they require. Hamilton and Inches, Scotland’s most prestigious jeweller, has kindly supplied a variety of beautiful stones and varying metals to inspire the jewellers to create their pieces. Graduates had eight hours over the course of a weekend to utilise their skills and imagination to produce exclusive pieces which will be auctioned for charity at Out Of The Blue, Dalmeny Street, Leith on Tuesday 30th August, from 6.30pm – 8.30pm.
Last year this event raised £4,500 and this year, with your help, we are hoping to double this figure. All proceeds from this year’s event will go to the nominated charities, CHAS, Maggie’s, It’s Good to Give and Columba 1400.
Along with raising funds for these poignant charities, this fun project gives each graduate an opportunity to showcase their work and allows a platform to help them develop and move forward with their career. All pieces will be hallmarked with the unique RSJ stamp and will be on display at Hamilton and Inches from August 22nd.
The auction is open to all, but there are limited number of VIP tickets available. Each ticket costs £20.00 which includes free refreshments throughout the evening, a free raffle ticket and the best seats in the house. It will also provide you with a unique opportunity to meet and chat to the jewellers themselves during the course of the evening.
We hope to see you on the 30th of August. However, if you are unable to attend but would like to place a bid, Online bidding will be available until midnight on Monday 29th August, the day before the auction.
